Buying and selling safely
If you are buying
- Inspect before you pay. Check PPE for damage and look for the safety standard marking (for example EN or ISO) on the item and its label.
- Prefer pay on delivery or pay when you collect. Be careful with anyone who asks for money first, a deposit, or payment by Western Union or gift cards.
- Meet in a public place in daylight, or bring someone with you.
- Check the seller. Look at their reviews, the Verified and Phone verified badges, and how long they have been a member. Badges mean we checked one thing; they are not a guarantee.
- If the price looks too good to be true, it usually is. Safety equipment that is fake or second-hand without a record can fail when it matters.
If you are selling
- Use real photos of the actual item and describe its condition honestly.
- Only claim a safety standard the item really meets. False claims get listings removed and accounts suspended.
- Do not share your M-Pesa PIN or passwords with anyone. We will never ask for them.
- Be wary of overpayment offers and buyers who want to move quickly to another app straight away.
